Okay, I will try not to write as long a description for this one as its companion piece Sophie Hatter [link]
Yes. Howl from the book Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones but obviously influenced by Miyazaki's movie. I definitely didn't put as much effort into this one as Sophie, which may be evident, but I wanted to draw at least one other person from the book, and I didn't want to trap myself into drawing all three sisters because my creative juices were quicky drying up. I wanted him to keep the Edwardian look from the Sophie piece, but I realize this scarlet and grey suit does not match the description in the book. Reference for that, actually, is sorta from Ed's look in Fullmetal Alchemist (the last bit anyway, or the movie-that-I-haven't-seen). The green border isn't meant so much to clash with the scarlet (I am quite avoidant of complementary colors) but to bring out "green-glass" eyes, as was also the reason behind Sophie's border. His left arm is bizarrely rendered, and I imagine anyone trying to put his hand into his pocket like that would have a lot of pain (especially when evidence of your having a hand has disappeared altogether). Really, I should have just picked up a GQ or something. I realize men do actually have lips and eyelashes, but my attempts to put them on Howl made him look like a flirty fish. Background is a screencap from the movie (kudos to you if you can tell what it is). References for physical descriptions of the characters from the book: [link] |

Abbe Faria: It doesn't matter. He believes in you.
